at my mums property when water is run from bathroom taps there is a strong eggy smell in her kitchen beneath, have checked to see if water is running freely with dye which comes through straight away

the soil pipe is boxed in under built in furniture, pipework for basin was new when this put in, smell is not there when wc is flushed, its just when water is run pipework for bath and shower is origional, could it be this?

Hi, proberly sink waste full of muck, best to get all wastes and traps clean out, also lift manhole and have look if getting block put hose down give it flush kind ,regards colin.

its almost certainly soil pipe smells escaping , maybe from boxed in soil pipe or kitchen waste pipe connection or faulty antivac waste trap on kitchen sink, does it smell when wc flushed ?
