What is the best finish for a bathroom ceiling?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM
Hi...Our shower is used daily, if not more, and the bathroom ceiling is papered. The wallpaper is now peeling. There is also coving insitu which appears unaffected. The walls have been decorated with bathroom silk emulsion and is ok. If the wallpaper is removed what is the best finish, tiles, Artex or some other finish? Suggestions please. Thank you!

The best finish would be to skim the ceiling after taking the paper off and paint it with white zinser paint.

Hi, once you have removed all the paper there are many options in regards to suitability but it depends on your style preference. I would personally recommend a white painted finish. Dulux bathroom paint is ideal for areas above and around showers. The coving will be fine with a gloss or satin white finish. Hope this helps.

Hi, I would recommend you remove the paper, sugar soap the ceiling to remove all glue residue, seal the ceiling with one coat of Zinser Bin Primer Sealer, apply two coats of Zinser Perma White mold resisting paint and this will leave you with a nice clean finish suitable for bathroom conditions. I hope this helps.
