Magnetic filter replacement
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.05 PM
My magnetic filter won't unscrew at the bottom like it should - I even tried using the tool I use to remove oil filters but it still won't budge I'm worried about damaging the pipework with any more force so I have removed it from the pipework after isolating the connection) and have sourced another brand filter that looks similar - can I simply reattach it or will I need to drain the system first?

If you are replacing the valves that connect to the return pipe you will need to drain the system as if you remove the valve that is isolating the water you will have very wet feet as the entire central heating water empty out.
