Painting over varnished doors
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM
I understand from previous posts that I need to sand off shine, prime, undercoat, topcoat. But what paint do I use as a top coat? Do I have to thin it and give two topcoats and if so, what do I thin it with? Thank you

yes lightly rub down to key the surface, depending on colour best 2 coats of undercoat and one gloss top pcoat but your top coat can be satin and matt also its your choice.
do not thin it down it is manufactured to this standard application
but if you get bare wood always put a primer on before the undercoat it helps cover and adhesion of the paint. hope this helps
