Plastering & Rendering

house wall internal plaster is now external to the house is it ok?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Our conservatory has recently been taken down. The back wall of the house was internal to the conservatory and was plastered to cover electrical wiring and painted white. Now the conservatory is removed the plaster is outside of the house and exposed to the weather. Will it be ok ? Thanks for answers we have now hacked off a test area back to the brick with a chisel and then the softer sand underneath removed with a wire brush. How do we get the fine sand grains out of the face of the brick?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The best thing would be to remove the plaster and render it using sand and cement or mesh over the plaster and render it .hope this helps

No it will not be OK. You need to use trunking to protect the wires also the plaster will stand no chance on exterior walls. Take it off back to brick or render.

The plaster will come off on its own or most of it will anyway I would be more worried about the electrical side of things, I should get it checked by a sparky
