New radiators fitted need to fill/glue/WHY old pipe holes.

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

We recently had new central heating installed unfortunately the new radiators were slightly different sizes from the old ones so the contractors went ahead and cut new holes in the carpet. Now we have the old holes to deal with, they are not 'shouting' or anything and you need to be aware that they are there to see them, but wife thinks they will fray in time, is there any DIY solution or is it a fitter job or should we just leave well enough alone?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can put PVA or wood glue around the edge of the hole or alternatively you can even use clear nail varnish,is there not an out of site carpet piece I.e under the stairs where you can take a piece to repair,or if there's a ball of wall of a similar colour you loop and cut to take your eye of the hole.

theres not alot you can do unless you have a spare piece of carpet somewhere,if you do then you can potentially heat seam them up.
