Fitting a Ceiling PIR with only 3 core wiring

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

I wonder if you can help. I have bought a LAP ceiling PIR sensor and was hoping to remove the pull switch and replace with the PIR. The issue is that the PIR required 4 core cable but the current pull switch only has 3 (live, neutral, earth). Simply how do you wire it up? Thanks Colin

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Think you will find that the pullswitch has live, switchwire, and earth. No neutral, so therefore one has to be put there otherwise it won't work. I suggest with the greatest of respect, that you get a professional in to do it, since you don't know what you need to make it work let alone doing it correctly or safely.

Colin. The PIR requires a live, neutral, earth & switchwire to work sounds like you are missing a wire probably the neutral. You are going to need a test meter to figure this one out.
