Building regulations for low pitch new roof (3 meter extension)
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.23 PM
Hi there, Does anyone know where I can find information on what the building regulations are for a new low pitched roof? I'm having a small extension built and the roof will be low pitch (circa 11 degrees), so are their any regs on beam sizes and spacing? Thanks, Chris

You would be wiser to put a warm flat roof on it with such a shallow pitch, it is likely to leak circa 10 years old especially if it is open to the elements and subject to wind driven rain.
Make sure you read up on the tile specification and the recommended laps to the tile rows, get this wrong with such a shallow pitch and it will or it is likely to leak a few years down the line. Most tiles are for 17.5 degree upwards.....you will need good research and detailing.
