how to connect a extracter fan with 2 wires the same colour

hi, i,ve just got a xplair fan, and it has 2 wires going to the conecters in the fan, but both are black, how do i know where to connect the live ect, cheers nick, thanks for all the answers, just been informed off xpelair that on this model it doesn,t matter where the L and N go,

To be honest. If your unsure ask a spark to come have a look. Simple job shouldn't take long.

Get an electrician in. Do you mean the two black cables are in the fan or do you mean the actual feed cables? Pretty sure it needs an Earth cable along with the feeds if you mean the feed cable, even if you don't need to connect it physically to the fan.
Your edit, so they are in the fan itself, is it new, secondhand? If it's new consult the instructions,or if you have the model number look it up online. it's not a 12volt fan is it??
