Plastering around plug sockets?

Hi all, Have had a plasterer in to 'make good' where the electrician has had to cut chases etc. Around some of the plug sockets he has chased, almost all plaster overlaps to the point that you cannot get the plug to sit in the gangplate or get access to the holes to screw in the screws. Is it normal practice to leave them like this and then to have to chip away the plaster once dried?

One off my pet hates!!! I've been in the trade a long time and was always told to think of other trades coming in after you. I always remove the plaster from plug sockets (before it cures) as I would remove splashes from skirting/floor boards/windows. Hope this helps TJ Plastering

Very normal. Just cut the plaster away neatly with a knife or a pad saw to the edge of the back box. Clean the boxes out you might need a 3.5 tap for the fixings to clean them out. Isn't your electrician doing this though?

Absolutely not. Any plasterer worth his salt will ALWAYS clean out the boxes when plastering. It is not good practise to do once fully hard as can chip away and leave unsightly holes which then may have to be filled again!
