The best way to fix stacked sleepers together

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.33 PM

I'm building a chair from sleepers based in this.... https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod8050234&categoryId=search How do you think these sleepers are fixed, wooden dowel or some kind of timberLOK screw?...and how many based on a 1 metre length sleeper?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

wow thats a great chair. i would use a threaded bar by marking and centreing each beam and making the dowel wider on the bottom beam by about 2 inch id put the bolt and 2 washers . them id measure the bar so it came 2 inches less the the top of the beam and drill the dowel 2 1/2 in and tighten the two bolts together and fill top dowel

Hardwood dowel would be a good way to go. You can get bolts that set in resin, grab bolts etc. but you still have to measure and drill
