Laminate flooring on top of an engineered wood floor

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.05 PM

Can i lay a laminate floor on top of an engineered floor. I know the best thing to do is remove the existing floor & start anew but the old lady I'm working for does not want the upheaval. I was thinking of screwing the engineered floor to sub floor in places to stop movement would this make it possible also what underlay is best to use on wood floors for laminate? Any advice would great Thanks Gary

do not even think of cutting corners like this it will eventually fail and you are completely liable, you must install to a minimum of british standards and this most definitely doesn't qualify.

Not to mention a step up into the room which could be a tripping hazard?
