Loss of water to bath only

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.43 PM

After my dad replaced the seals in my bath combi tap I have no water. The water comes from a tank in attic where the shutoff valve is for bath only. I also have a pressure vessel installed to reduce vibration to combi boiler. I have checked the shutoff valve and also checked the pressure in vessel. When I release the valve to increase pressure (currently at about 1/2 bar) you here a whoosh and then I get a terrible water hammer through the pipes. Any ideas what I can check??

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello Debs. What you are describing makes no sense at all, apart from the notion that your entire plumbing system is a completely botched up mess. My only advice to you is to have it all inspected by a competent professional who can properly assess it & advise you accordingly.

Expansion vessel (white) on a cold water pipework must be recharged to 3bar to stop hammering noise. Filters could be blocked on the hot and cold supplies to bath mixer valve.
