Low Hot water Pressure in Bath Tap.

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.23 PM

The water pressure in my hot water tap has decreased in the last year, its fine with every other hot tap/shower in my home. I've checked the water pressure on my combi-boiler and had my relative round who's a Gas Engineer have a look but we're both stumped. Have taken the bath cover off and the taps to check if there's any blockages but no success. Can't find any isolaters that have been damaged or turned off by mistake. Its almost as if somewhere in the house someone is using a hot tap so all the pressure is being used. I was considering changing the taps but don't want to fork out for new taps if they still won't fix the issue. Any advice would be greatly received! Thanks

Before you buy a new tap, try putting an gate valve in the pipe fairly close to the tap, the run a hose from the other side of the gate valve, open the gate valve and if the pressure is better you know it's the tap. Total cost around £10 and maybe a couple of hours. Simon.
