Fixing the Floor of the first floor!

Bought a used house. Previous owner had the first floor mixed carpet and laminate. When I walk, I find it quite uneven and squeaky. This not the case in all the 4 rooms. But mostly in the landing area and two of the room. If I fit new carpets, or change the laminate, would this problem go?

no it won't, you need to find and rectify the problem at source.

Sounds to me like the floor boards in the rooms need repairing or fastening down properly before laying the carpet and laminate flooring over them again
