Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.05 PM

If I'm doing a re skim on a wall with an angle (chimney breast for example) do I need to put new beads on or not

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would always use a plaster skim bead to obtain a quality job.

On a chimney breast I would advise that you remove the old beads and fit quality new angle beads IF THERE IS ANY SIGN OF RUST on the existing ones. You can check this by scratching off a small area of plaster over the existing beads before doing a re-skim and looking for rust/discolouration. Hope this helps.
