I take it your having a shower installed on the wall above the taps, You won't need to buy new taps as the plumber who you get to install the shower should be able to take a feed from the pipe work underneath the bath, pipes would need chasing in the wall or dropped from the ceiling if you have a feed in the loft, depending on what shower you get he could take a hot and cold feed from pipe work or if your getting an electric shower installed you would just need a cold feed, or an alternative and a cheaper option with less work involved would be to get a new mixer/shower tap, hope this helps

For an electric power shower, no, no taps need replacing, for an overhead shower that requires no power and uses the pressure from the hot and cold tap feed then yes you will likely need new taps. However, that said you can buy standalone overhead showers that run from the pipework underneath the bath that require no electricity, minimal plumbing work and work the exact same way overheads do except the taps don't need changing. Cost effective and efficient, also no need for wiring and very easy install.
