Water hammering if using hot tap whilst cistern refills after flushing?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

In my upstairs bathroom I get water hammering in the pipes sometimes when trying to use the hot water tap. I've since identified that the problem seems to only occur during flushing and refilling of the cistern. So naturally it occurs after every flush as people try to wash their hands! How do I stop this from happening? Also, why does this happen/ how does the one thing affect the other?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If this problem has only just started, Try replacing the ball cock in the wc. More than likely its the diaphram failed.
