electrical works not certified
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.22 PM
Hello everyone, We have done our flat revired few years ago and didn't get cert, etc. Builder promised that someone will be checking his work and issue certificate on completion together with new fusebox fitted. Last two didn't happened, so we have new wires but old fusebox and no one who signed for work. We have big dispute in the middle of other works and he disappeared, no more contact. We believe that works are done as regs said but was just advised by friend and our research. This is leasehold property. We have left it as it is until now. We thinking to sell out flat and we have found that this will be a large issue!!! How to resolve, please? What is the way to test all and cert that is safe and by regs, inform who need to be, etc.. so all will be sorted. We also find info of possible penalty for illegal electrical works hangs on property owner if no other person who's responsible. I believe it is the situation like that. What sort of we could expect? Thanks for responses.
