Upcycling chest of drawers
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM
I am painting a chest of drawers, I have used Rust-Oleum gloss furniture paint for the main unit and I want to paint the drawers different shades of pink. I don't want to have to buy 5 different colour pinks for the drawers and was wondering if I could buy one colour and mix it with the white I used for the unit. I can only find furniture paint in pink with a chalk finish, can I mix this with the gloss finish or will I have to buy white chalk paint? Thanks

The dulux colour mixing range in places like homebase also do gloss for wood and metal. You can then choose whichever pink you desire! If you don't need a huge quantity then rather than buying lots of tins you can buy a tin of the darkest pink you require and then mix with the white to tone down

I wouldn't mix different types of paints, if you are going to tint..use same product in white. Possibly make batches so they're consistent and label if necessary to avoid mix up
