If its an original old sash window the pane can be replaced by most glazing companies who can take the pane out and replace - be aware old sash window can have 2mm thick glass , new float glass is generally 4mm )
although some glaziers can supply 3mm) 4mm glass can look out of place in a fine frame and add extra weight to the sash if its a large pane. Talk to the glazier and find out what he intends to do . Poss look for sash refurb companies rather than glazing companies who may be more sympathetic to the replacement.

Hi
Most glasses can be replaced if cracked. But how easy or difficult is it depends upon the profile material (timber/aluminium/upvc) and the position of the beading (external/internal/recessed). Its better to use a toughened or laminated glass while replacing which will reduce manifold the chance of future cracks at the same place if its vulnerable to impact.
Hope this is useful.
Thanks.
