please can you tell me who own it

Hi I moved into my property 12 years ago as a council tennent.i bought it 3 years ago from them.in my back garden a concrete 4 foot fence as been on my boundey when I moved in because the old neighbours came into my boundey,even though the red line on deeds says its in my boundey the new neighbour is disputing this he has lived there 4 years I've lived here 12 can you give me any advice please,because he keeps coming round having a go of me over this which is not pleasant

Hi there, If the fence is within your boundaries as outlined in your deeds, this would belong to yourself. Otherwise, as a general rule, if you stand at the back of your garden, look at your house, everything on the left hand side belongs to yourself. You can place a dispute and legally move the fence to the boundaries of your deeds. I'd recommend contacting your local district authority for further guidance. Many thanks, Adam
