Marley roof tile RD 807051 equivalent & GRP valley?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

About to have replacement valley installed & need to know the equivalent tiles for the existing Marley RD807051 tiles that are currently on the roof. The contractor has quoted for Redland 49 but the profile doesn't doesn't appear to correspond with the existing tiles. There was some umming & ahhing upon contacting one supplier and the next one felt they could brush me off with any answer that came to mind because as a female, it is a general trend to talk down to me. I would therefore greatly appreciate a definitive response that could save me a number of phone calls. Also would like to know whether it would be recommended to use Marley high profile GRP valley or whether any manufacturer's product would be OK please. PS. Marley technical adviser thinks that Ludlow Plus are the equivalent BUT they are a different size & recommends trying a reclamation site!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi To be honest if your tiles are old, then the best option is to search for a good reclaim yard. You will get a matching and faded colour. Take your own tile and you will probably get a very good match. They usually charge around £3 plus VAT per tile; take cash and you may get a discount at a reclaim yard. With new tiles they are usually slightly bigger and stand out like sore thumb on a repair. You can normally get GRP valleys from good roof suppliers which may be cheaper than Marleys own brand (http://fascias.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=Valley). Regards Drew
