Central Heating

No hot water upstairs

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

Hiya, I've recently changed 2 rads and removed 1 and capped it off. When I put the heating on the 2 rads that I've fitted get warm but non of the rads upstairs do. I've bled all the rads and still nothing, will I have to drain the whole system down and recharge it. ????

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You more than likely have an airlock in your system. Either that or insufficient pressure If you have a pressurised set up. Firstly, you should check that the system pressure is around the 1.5 bar area ( that is if it is a sealed system of course. If not don't worry ) Secondly, you should close off one of the valves on each radiator that gets hot, which will force the pump to move the air in the pipe work and allow the rest of the system to heat up. Remember to open the valves that you closed after all the rads have gained heat. Also, make sure that you only have heating on whilst doing this process. Having hot water on too will provide another flow path within the system and will most likely not lead to alleviating your problems
