Mistake! Vinyl Paint as mist coat
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.42 PM
Hi I had my living room skimmed recently. It had a damp course about ten years ago, and the area where the dampcourse was done has dried out fully. Above this area however (chest high) there are patches where the plaster hasn't FULLY dried, even after 5 weeks. I was told to give it a mist coat and have used Dulux Matt Brilliant White, watered down with about 20-25% water. Ive since found out that the Vinyl content of this paint wont allow this residual moisture to evaporate, and that I should have used a contract matt. Its had one coat and ive stopped there since realising my mistake. Is there anything I can do to rectify this error before I continue? I assume painting over it with a contract matt wont do the trick, as the vinyl is already on the plaster. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated
