Small Leak from Ocean Alpha 240x Combi Boiler - (Cold Mains Inlet Pipe)

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

Hello, I have a small leak from what I think is the cold mains inlet valve on my combi boiler in my house. The model is a Ocean Alpha 240x combi boiler - approx. 15-16 years old (photo's can be supplied if needed). The pressure bar on the boiler seems higher than usual. Additionally, I am finding that the wall thermostat needs to be set to a high temperature (25 - 30 degrees) in order for the boiler to kick in. Admittedly the last time it was serviced was May last year. Please can you advise? Thanks, Dane

The water leak will be down to the Fibre washer needs replacing you can low the pressure by bleeding a rad until pressure goes down to 1 bar Alpha 240 one of my fave Boilers, they are very good Boilers.

Best advice is call your local Gas Safe engineer, but make sure he/she specialises in boiler breakdowns first as not all gas engineers do!
