Can wooden floor be levelled using original wood?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.22 PM
I live in an 1890 Edinburgh tenement which has suffered from gradual subsidence making the floors far from level. Is it possible to have them levelled without having to replace what seem to be good wooden planks? Thanks

you will have to remove original boards carefully.then you can fix timbers alongside original joists to level floor before refitting.sound easy but can be very costly being labour intensive.all work must be taken carefully to avoid damage to ceiling below if there is one.good luck.
