Bathroom Fitting

Where can a wall hung toilet and sink be fitted?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

I'm thinking of building a stud wall against an external wall in our upstairs bathroom so everything looks flush against the wall. I plan to have some built in storage in the stud wall and have a wall hung toilet and sink so it looks very clean and minimal. Can a wall hung toilet and sink, in theory, be installed anywhere? The wall I plan to hang the toilet and sink from is an external loading bearing wall, but I'm imagining it will actually hang from a frame that sits inside the stud wall. There is a small window about a 1 meter above where the toilet would go.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Yes you can hang a toilet and sink from a stud wall, the wall hung toilet will have to be bought with a specialist metal frame that sits in the stud work which you hang the toilet from that rather than the stud work, we have fitted a few, they can be tricky to get secured right, but a bit of planning and lots of patience will get the job done. For the sink you will need to fit some additional secure patress timbers in the stud work to carry the sink. Hope this helps Gary Concept (Yorkshire) Ltd
