i have 3 E7 storage heaters one of them as stopped working not taking in any heat , switch at side still lights up do i need a electrician or an heating engineer

All three heaters were working when switched back on three weeks ago. one as since stopped working. Two heaters run of one fuse box, the one that stopped working runs of another box as was installed later than other two.

Could be a thermostat but my money is on the thermal fuse link. Do you air clothes on it this is a major cause of storage heaters overheating and blowing the thermal fuse stopping the current before it gets to the element. A half decent electrician can sort it. Kevin.

Ay good electrician should be able to sort this out no problem. All storage heaters have some form of overheat device. On newer Storad, dimplex, creda models this can be reset once the cover is removed by pushing in the thermal cu-out button. On some older heaters there is a fusible link (a bit like a small lead fuse) which melts when it gets very hot. Normally dust builds up inside the heater during the summert and when they are first switched on in the winter they can quickly overheat. Its also worth asking your electrician to give the inside of the heater a hoover out so its clear of all dust.
