Will a self levelling screed compound stick to a Bitument liquid DPM?
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.42 PM
Hello, I have a steel frame 1920s' bungalow with a concrete raft foundation floor and no DPM. The floor is quite uneven and needs levelling. However i also need to apply a DPM and my screed can only be quite thin. If i apply a Bitument DPM to the floor first and then maybe a Primer, would my self levelling screed compound stick to the DPM ok? Or would it seperate and crack? Thanks

Don't use a bitumen at all, you are correct eventually your screed will fail. You need a flooring professional to use an epoxy liquid DPM and screed suitable for this area and is not a job you should think to attempt 1 pinhole is a failed floor.
