Elbow joint behind oven takes too much clearance room
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.42 PM
My girls friends kitchen has a 90°elbow joint screwed to the wall behind the gas oven which means it sticks directly out from the wall taking up valuable clearance distance. Her current oven has an over hang level where the hob is creating enough clearance to accommodate this. However a new oven which does not have such an over hang could not be pushed back to the wall which would make the front stick out proud beyond the adjacent cupboards by approximately 5 to 6 cms. Therefore could a different joint be installed so the gas connection lead is flat against the wall and not stick out at 90°from the wall?

Yes. Call a local gas engineer and they will sort it for you.
