New build ; what type of boiler should I install
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
We're building a 2 bed bungalow for our retirement years . We will be installing under floor heating . The boiler will have to power the under floor heating , and hot water for baths showers , washing etc . Because of space , our preference would be for a combination boiler - but would it cope ?

Combi boilers are great at producing heat but there Achilles Heal they are limited to how much hot water they can deliver. If you only have one bathroom then a combi boiler will be fine including the heat source for your UFH too.
Rule of thumb, when anyone is in the shower other people should be aware of this and know not to use the hot water tap, as this may impact on the temperature of the shower causing it get colder. So its really just a matter of discipline.
