Secondary bonding to back boxes, kitchen sink, bathroom - is it necessary?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.22 PM

I've just had a new fuse box and the house rewired. There are earth straps from the mains water and gas box and also to the boiler. However there is no secondary bonding to the sink, bathroom taps or to the back boxes of the light switches. My electrician says there doesn't have to be as the circuits have RCD protection. However another tradesman said i should insist on secondary bonding. Who's correct please?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Your spark is correct. If other tradesman knew as much as he thinks he does he would be a spark too. In saying that make sure your spark is registered, he gives you an installation cert and you receive a compliance cert from his governing body within 7 days of him registering your job.
