What size slate tiles should I use on my roof?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

I will shortly be redoing my roof. It is a flat roof with pitched sides, slate will only be on the pitched area of the roof. The pitched roof sides are about 15 degrees. The pitched roof is 1.5m high by 6m in length, either side. There are lots of different slate sizes, from small to large, for a roof my size what sort of size per slate should I be aiming for?

With there only being a shallow pitch I wouldn't use slate just in case the water runs back on itself. You would be better using a bold roll clay roof tile.
