Asbestos in an old terraced house

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.42 PM

As per my previous question we zre looking to buy a pre 1908 terraced house. One of your concerns is Asbestos in the loft. Is it likely that, that would be the case? Would a survey pick it up? Or would we need to involve someone else?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

depends on what type of survey, if you go for a full survey .rather than a cheap building society survey, the full survey will pull out all sort of faults. a full structural survey although not cheap is well worth the extra cost.

Make it known to your surveyor if they dont pick it up. If it is asbestos, it wont be cheap to remove.
