Damp Proofing

What type of damproofing can we put over new concrete floor in garden outhouse ?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

Wooden garden outhouse 15x10 had leaking roof which damaged the wooden flooring, roof newly repaired, all wooden floor taken out to base concrete and had new concrete put down 3 weeks ago, only to realise we should have done some reseach first as we should have been advised to have damp proof membrane put down under the concrete. We were then advised to have 2 coates of Epoxy Liquid membrane painted over the concrete, however we have been quoted £800 to have this done, could we buy the Epoxy liquid and do the job ourselves ? If not can you advise if there a cheaper solution ? Many Thanks

On a DIY basis you could use Liquid Polyurathane. Based on what I believe is imperial measurements you have a floor area of 13.5m2. You could try speaking to The Roof Shop and ask for 30kg of Liquid PU, plus a tin of porous primer - job should cost around £300. The only other thing you need is a roller and ventilation.
