How do I use a 3000w heat press on my home electricity without using a standard plug socket?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM
I've recently bought a large format heat press (60cm x 100cm) and I'm having difficulties using it in my home studio. The heat press says it requires 3000w, 220v on the spec sheet. There's also a 40 amp glass fuse built into the machine. I've managed to get the heat press up to 180 degrees celcius once before the fuse blew using a standard british 13 amp plug but my main concern is that it's not safe to continue to use the machine this way as the plug socket heats up way too much and the fuse keeps blowing in the plug. My question is should I be running this machine on it's own dedicated circuit and not via plug sockets like an electric oven? And if so what would be the best set up to achieve this? Many thanks in advance
