Can my nebour take down a fence and not replace it with a new one.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.41 PM

My new nebour removed the fence that was between his and our property in order to build his side extension. We asked him to replace them as we still had a small peace of ground that ran along between our wall and the fence. He first replyed that there was no fence. Then followed that with if he did that his space between the fence and his building would be small. The other nebours do and will state that there was always a fence .I think he also wants to remove the fence that runs along the front of the property's .We do want to keep the fence. The fence is on his so it's his. What can we do.

providing you keep it on your side of the boundary their is nothing to stop you putting up your own fence, should he then want to remove it its criminal damage, this sounds like a bully don't let them intimidate you. at the end of the day he built the extension leaving very little n space not you so its his problem not yours. good luck Alex
