what type of tradesman can do poured concrete platform in the garden? I'm little confused when posting a job, of who to select from the list of trade.

Groundworkers, general builders, or even just competent handymen if it's only for a light shed.
Get the concrete mixed by a firm who comes with a truck that only mixes the amount you require.
Factoring time/labour costs in this is usual cheaper because its quicker and its better mixed concrete usually. best of luck.
