I dont think our front door has been fitted correctly and I dont think it is effective on our two year old house. Can we ask for the door to be replaced?

The door sits flush with the frame or its suppose to, e.g. There is no overlap between the frame and the door edges to prevent heat loss. Its always been very cold in the hall, having the heating on doesnt make a difference. I have now got worms coming into the hallway. They must be getting under the door. We have just come out of our 2 year guarantee (where the builder will correct any snags for free). Would the door be covered and would they sort it out or are we to pay for any problem?

Liability of Contractor to Employer
The contractor is expected to carry out the construction work in workmanlike manner so as to meet the requirement and specification for the project. The condition of the contract may be such that the period of making good defects in construction can be divided into three during construction, during defects
liability period and post defects liability period.

All new builds and extensions need to conform to U value which ensure that minimal heat loss is gained. In a new house this would be an issue and even though its two years old I think you should try and approach the contractor and put your concerns accross. they may well be more helpful and cooperative than you think as they do not want any negative feedback or claims against them.
