Recommend humidistat for bathroom in a flat

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

Coming up to replace a bathroom (about 10 square meters) ceiling extractor fan in a flat. Would like to know a good one especially those used by major procurement groups such as the council as they would have done the homework to find a good performing robust bit of kit.

hi the icon range as above are a good fan,i started using these a few years ago myself, although now i use a constant run unit, which runs on a trickle speed all the time, which you cannot hear,to help keep constant flow in the room, and when the light is activated it kicks in to a high speed which runs on for 15 mins after light de activated, and drops back to low speed again. these help eep the pressure up in the room and mould away,as the air is constantly being drawn from the rest of the house. cost usually about 65.00 each, slimline, perm+switched live required, with neutral. ben.

I would recommend a icon 30 bathroom fan manufacturer is air flow. depending on the location of the fan is dependent upon what spec you will require if the fan is within a zone in the bathroom then it will need to be a low voltage fan. if their is no window then you must also have a run on timer. other things to think about are if you wish for it also to have a humidistat. if it is a bathroom containing a shower I would recommend a low voltage icon 30 with timer and humidistat. You will need to locate the transformer outside of the bathroom with a triple pole isolator wire from the pull switch with a switch live and permanent live, neutral and earth. vent axia fans are ok but these days rely on the name and reputation they developed along time ago and now you are just paying for the name and is not a better quality fan hope this helps kind regards matthew jones new leads electrical
