Compression metal fittings on to plastic pipe

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM

i have plastic pipes through out our house and i'm connecting to a shower valve. I'm obviously going to use metal compression to connect to the valve but can my plastic pipe go straight in to the fitting or will it be better to use about 100mm of copper pipe then connect to the plastic using a push fit connector ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Plastic can be attached to compression fittings without problems. Just make sure you put an insert into the end of the plastic pipe to strengthen it and then tighten the fitting as normal.

Of course you can use plastic but don't forget an insert inside the pipe.
