Tiling

Sealing Bond plaster coat

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

My plaster has put on a Thistle Bonding Coat Undercoat and advised that I can tile onto it once it has dried and then sealed. I have never heard of this. Is this possible and can an expert recommend a suitable primer. Thanks.

No bonding is no good for tiling to and should be removed of should have a plaster finish skim and you never use pva as a primer before tiling ,it is far better to use sbr,but if you continue to tile to the bonding coat then in time the tiling will fail.
