Relocating kitchen sink to new room and need to reroute water drainage
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.41 PM
I am relocating a kitchen sink to a new room (Changing rooms around) I have a lot of experience in house renovation, but am not sure if I am allowed to do this myself on this occasion (Just the kitchen water waste part relocation) as it requires me to place new piping on the outside of the house to route the kitchen waste water from the new room (going through the wall to the outside), around the house (one wall and left turn) and back to the nearest and original waste drain. My questions are 1) Can I do this myself, or do I need to get a plumber in due to Competent Person Scheme / requirements? I am using the original drain, so as I see it I am just expanding a pipe from along a wall and to the same (existing) drain and connecting to the same (existing & old) pipe? 2) If I can do myself, is there any limitation to the length of piping I am allowed to use? Back to the original and closest drain is around 8 to 10 meters. 3) If I have to get a plumber in do I get some sort of certificate like electricians use after the work? Thanks for your help!
