Can i re-pressurize a combi boiler system with a radiator removed

Hi all Just a quick question regarding the removal of a radiator. I have a Combi boiler system and have removed a radiator in the bedroom for decorating. As there is still work to do over the next few weeks, what I was wondering is if it's possible to repressurize the boiler system (the pressure dropped as expected during removal which means no hot water currently) while this radiator is removed as it seems pointless to put the radiator back on only to have to remove it several more times while work is completed Any help on the matter would be much appreciated

As long as the valves are closed (both sides of the rad lockshield and TRV) you can represurise the system. Next time you need to remove a rad for decoration you don't need to drain the system, just close the valves and remove. Be careful to catch the water in the radiator however as it may be dirty due to sludge in the system.

To remove the radiator you should of only needed to lock down the valves ie the trv and lockshields. Then release the radiator pressure sometimes the trv's don't close fully due to them being old and scaled up. You can take them apart by unscrewing the top half of the trv then insert a 5 pence coin into hole and reassemble this should keep the trv's closed and is only a temporary fix without having to drain the whole system down you should be able to pressurise the boiler with out any problems keep an eye on the removed radiator just to make sure it doesn't leak .hope this helps
