Bathroom fan with separate fused box linked to light.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

The above operates from pull cord. Cables to ceiling light fitting: single black, two red, two black and two earth. Light fitting: single brown and single blue. Does blue go to single black and brown to double black? Also, the fan fuse box has the following wires: to fan - 1 black (N), 1 red (L), 1 (E). to light - 1 black (N), 1 red (not connected), 1(E) to/from ??? - 1 black (N), 1 red (L), 1 (E) Should the loose red be connected. If so, to where??

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Ken, Black cables can be used as a switch live and may not be identified with the correct over sleaving / tape. If your not sure you should get an electrician, they will be able to sort the problem in no time. Ben

Think you need an electrician in with a voltage tester etc to do it. Wouldn't cost much, or take too long either.
