When re-building a bay window and joining the main walls of the house, does the cavity connect or close?

when rebuilding a bay window the face brickwork must be tied to the original house facework, the cavity must be continuous and also kept clean to avoid any damp penetration

If you are replacing the angle bricks to the bay, don't throw them away. as you will need to copy the angle with the new bricks. Also if possible, use the cill as a template to build the bay the correct size. This will help in keeping a cavity open when constructing the new bay. If the original bay masonry instant insulated. I would insulate the new masonry, fill only partially, keeping a cavity.
