Is it better to get a plasterer in to fill in chases created by an electrical rewiring job?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.03 PM

We're getting our house rewired, but we also require a small amount of unrelated plastering work done. Is it better/cheaper/wiser to get the electrician to fill in the chases and ask a plasterer to fix up the unrelated wall, or should I ask the electrician to leave the chases and get the plasterer to fill in the chases as well as the unrelated wall?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Any good trades man should fill in the dameged walls and live the job nice and clean but this is not the case sometimes. I plasterer wood need a extra day to fill the walls let the bonding dry and plaster .so my need to pay a bit more .hope this helps.

its not down to an electrician to bond walls, and my advise is if you want it done properly get a plasterer in, little things like applying pva to bonded areas will reduce cracks appearing in the future, get the right tradesmen and it will save you hassle and extra money later on.

Get a plasterer to do it so you know it's done properly and then a decorator to make the plasterer work better looking with some filling, sanding and emulsion. Not the electricians job

a plasterer would be better as he knows how he needs it for him to give a nice finish. but if wallpapering i would get ur electrician to fill them as you would never know what was underneath.
