airline cracks in lath and plaster ceillings

got a few cracks,no movement,no big cracks,no sags,whats the best thing to do,cheers grant

Depends what level of finish you want. If you want a quick fix,then take MJ Plasterings advice. If you don't want any cracks to reappear in the future,then go for an overboard and skim finish,more expensive yes but you won't be re-filling cracks every 6 months,and trust me............the cracks WILL come back,as well as new ones. Do NOT re-skim directly onto lath and plaster ceilings as suggested by someone else,total waste of time and money..........and the cracks will get bigger if you do. Spend that little bit more now if you can,and you will thank me for it in the future. Carl.

hi, use a plaster filler which you can buy from many diy stores apply it with a spatula thinly when dry gently sand it back ready for painting. if you do not feel confident in doing it yourself then call a repitual plasterer in your area hope this helps best of luck martin.
