New on top of old?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.32 PM
Can I have new seagrass fitted over old? The reason for doing this would be to keep my old, high-spec acoustic and thermal underlay, and minimise disruption. I'm told it isn't possible to remove old seagrass from the existing underlay.

no it isn't possible due to British Standards, everything will need removing and new boarding or screeding before starting from scratch.

a carpet cannot be laid on top of exsisting flooring , a new carpet will collect dustmites and when it does u are left with the carpet wearing a lot sooner and causing a smell
